Grand Scale Pair of Hand-Carved Stone Pedestal Urns with Bird Motifs — 20th Century

Details

An impressive pair of grand-scale, hand-carved stone urns, each raised on an integrated pedestal and richly adorned with opposed birds in high relief. Executed with strong architectural presence, the urns draw inspiration from classical garden ornament, where symbolic animal forms and balanced proportions create both decorative beauty and formal structure. The carved birds animate the composition, introducing movement and narrative to the otherwise monumental forms, while the stone surfaces display natural texture and tonal variation that enhance their sculptural depth. The substantial scale and integrated pedestals lend the pair a commanding verticality, making them ideal focal points within a landscape or interior architectural setting. Dimensions: 19.75”H x 25“Diameter Materials: Stone Period: 20th century
