Details
A hand-carved stone weight with the soft, chalky grey-white surface of a piece that has weathered in the open air, flecked with natural mottling and the occasional trace of moss-like staining. The rounded body is banded and carved with a pattern of fine, repeating detail, rising to a square, block-like top. A rustic iron handle arches over the form, rusted to a warm brown that contrasts handsomely with the pale stone. It has a weighty, substantial feel, which makes it a natural for holding a door open indoors or out. It is equally at home as a sculptural accent on a porch, patio, garden path, entry or shelf. At 6" in diameter and 13.5" tall, it adds texture and an architectural, old-world note wherever you place it. Specifications Era: Vintage Material: Carved stone, iron handle Dimensions: 6" diameter x 13.5" H Color: Weathered grey-white with rust-brown iron handle Details: Banded, carved body, square top, arched iron handle Condition: Vintage; natural weathering and mottling; iron handle rusted Use: Doorstop, garden or patio accent, shelf piece This vintage carved stone doorstop has a weathered grey-white finish and a rusted iron handle. It measures 6 inches in diameter and 13.5 inches tall, with banded carved detail and a square top. It works as a doorstop or as a garden, patio or entry accent, and is available from DE-COR in Pasadena with trade pricing for designers. Q: Does it work as a doorstop? A: Yes. The solid stone body and low, wide base give it a stable hold, and the iron handle makes it easy to carry and position. It suits wood or tile floors best, and we recommend a felt pad underneath on delicate floors to prevent scratching. Q: Can it stay outside through the seasons? A: Stone handles outdoor weather well, and the weathering you see is part of its appeal. The iron handle will continue to rust, which many buyers consider a bonus. In freezing climates, place it where water can't pool inside or around the base, and on a level surface so it stays steady. **Please bear in mind that colors of products shown may vary slightly from their original color due to monitor display settings or photography studio.
