Amsterdam School - Dutch Art Deco Oak, 1920s Cabinet with Mirror Meubelfabriek L.O.V. Attrib. / Netherlands Amsterdam School, Dutch Art Deco Oak, 1920s cabinet with mirror. Attributed to Meubelfabriek L.O.V. (Labor Omnia Vincit) out of Oosterbeek, The Netherlands. Wonderfully designed piece that exemplifies the architectural approach that the designers in The Amsterdam School approached their furniture pieces with. Most notably its arched frame over the mirror echoes the expressive brickwork and rooflines found in Amsterdam School architecture. Other notable details are the fluted, fan-like geometric carvings in the corners of the door panels and the use of dark ebonized droplet shapes against the lighter oak which creates the bold, expressionist contrast the style is also famous for.
