English sterling silver domino form match safe, decorated with black & white enamel. Made by Thomas Johnson II, London, 1881. Retailed by Habermann, 5 Avenue de L'Opera, Paris. French import marks. This outstanding unusual safe is 1 3/4" long, 7/8" wide, 5/16" thick and weighs 33.7 grams or 1.08 ozs Troy. There are minor hairlines in enamel, no loss. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
