Ceramic Bowl with Speckled Glaze and Leaf Pattern Denmark Mid-Century Modern 1970s

Details

This vintage ceramic bowl features a clean cylindrical silhouette decorated with a rustic, hand-applied aesthetic. The interior and exterior are coated in a creamy off-white glaze heavily accented by abstract brown speckles and dots, with a stylized pair of brown leaves detailed inside the basin. Produced by the historic studio Søholm Keramik on the Danish island of Bornholm, this charming piece represents the warm, nature-inspired craft traditions of Mid-Century Modern 1970s. The bowl is constructed from thick, high-quality stoneware clay, finished with a smooth glossy glaze that thins along the upper rim to expose an earthy brown undertone. The base is fully glazed in a matte white finish and displays the stamped circular "Bornholmsk Søholm Denmark Stentøj" logo, along with the series form number 3628/2 and an artisan’s hand-painted monogram. An exceptionally versatile piece, this shallow dish functions beautifully as a small centerpiece bowl, a catchall on an entryway console table, or a decorative accent on a floating wall shelf. Its neutral tones and organic motif provide an understated, cozy texture that complements both minimal Scandinavian decor and more rustic spaces. 5.6×5.6×1.5 Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
