Details

Fox in the Henhouse , oil on canvas, circa 1940, artist unknown. A lively and slightly chaotic farmyard scene capturing the moment of a fox raid, with figures rushing in as chickens scatter in all directions. Painted with loose, expressive brushwork, the piece has a storytelling quality—full of movement and tension, but also a touch of humor. The muted palette and rustic setting give it a grounded, everyday feel, typical of mid-century rural genre scenes. A charming and character-filled work that brings a sense of narrative and energy to any space. Measures 24 3/8" x 37 3/8"
