Details
A fragment of history carved from stone, this architectural bracket depicts the graceful curve of a Peacock, a bird that symbolizes beauty and immortality in Indian culture. Originally, this piece would have served as a decorative corbel on a doorframe or window niche in a traditional home. What makes this piece truly special is the survival of its original blue polychrome finish. The paint has weathered over decades to reveal the raw stone beneath, creating a "chippy" texture that feels excavated and precious. Lay it flat on a coffee table as a tactile object. It brings a touch of "Modern Farmhouse" or boho charm. It also looks fantastic mounted as wall art. • *Era: Antique • *Size: 8"(L) x 1"(D) x 6"(H) • *Material: Carved Stone / Pigment • *Color: Distressed Original Blue Paint • *Form: Stylized Peacock/Bird Head Corbel • *Style: Folk Art / Architectural Salvage / Rustic • *Origin: India • *Condition: Antique with heavy weathering, paint loss, and softened edges consistent with stone architectural salvage.
