Mid-Century Modern "Tulip" Dining Room Set by Eero Saarinen for Knoll

Details

Designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International, this exceptional mid-century modern Tulip dining room set is one of the most celebrated furniture designs of the 20th century. Introduced in the 1950s as part of Saarinen's groundbreaking Pedestal Collection, the Tulip series was conceived to eliminate the "slum of legs" found beneath conventional tables and chairs, resulting in a clean, sculptural silhouette that remains as striking today as when it debuted. This set includes the iconic pedestal dining table accompanied by four swivel Tulip armchairs, retaining the original Knoll manufacturer's tag. The fiberglass chair shells have been professionally refinished in white, beautifully complementing the matching 42” pedestal table. Each chair features a newly upholstered seat cushion in richly textured dark brown boucle fabric, providing both exceptional comfort and visual contrast. The smooth swivel function adds everyday practicality while preserving the timeless elegance of Saarinen's original design. This authentic vintage dining set is an outstanding example of American mid-century design and a remarkable opportunity to own one of the most recognizable furniture icons ever produced. Few furniture collections have achieved the enduring influence of Saarinen's Tulip series. Represented in museums around the world and continually sought after by collectors, these pieces embody Knoll's commitment to innovative design, exceptional craftsmanship, and lasting quality. Combining sculptural beauty with everyday functionality, it remains highly desirable.
