Details
A large coral-pink blossom, its petals dotted through the center with small dark speckled accents standing in for stamens, anchors the body of this small round vase, balanced by a smaller spray of blue flowers trailing to one side. A pale celadon-green glaze catches at the small flared mouth, a slightly cooler tone than the brown seen on some of its companions in this style. The layered petal shading and the loosely hand-applied speckling at the flower's center are both clear signs of freehand brushwork, no two dots quite matching in size or placement, the kind of small variation a mechanical pattern can't replicate. The pairing of one warm dominant bloom with a cooler, secondary floral accent is a compositional habit that shows up across a lot of Chinese decorative painting, giving even a single-flower piece a sense of depth and balance rather than a flat, centered motif. Small enough for a shelf or a grouped vignette, it holds its own as a quiet, detailed accent. *Era: Vintage, *Origin: China, hand-painted decorative porcelain tradition *Material: Porcelain with hand-painted polychrome enamel decoration *Size: 4.5"(Diameter) x 4.5"(H) *Color: White ground, hand-painted coral-pink blossom with dark speckled accents and a blue floral spray; pale celadon-green glazed rim at the mouth *Condition: Wear consistent with age & use, blemishes and imperfections will be present. A small hand-painted Chinese porcelain vase with a coral-pink blossom and blue floral accent on a round body, finished with a celadon-green glazed mouth. How can I tell this is genuinely hand-painted? Look closely at the speckled dots at the flower's center, their slightly uneven size and spacing are a hallmark of freehand brushwork that a transfer print would render perfectly uniform. **Please bear in mind that colors of products shown may vary slightly from their original color due to monitor display settings or photography studio
