English sterling silver hinged cigarette case, decorated with hand chased engraved patterns, featuring scroll foliate vines. On the top, there is a round reserve with no monograms or removals. Interior is gilt. Bottom side has slightly arched shape. Made by Deakin & Francis, Birmingham, 1908. This spectacular case is 3 3/8" long, 2 1/2" wide, 5/8" thick and weighs 92.3 grams or 2.97 ozs Troy. Inner dimensions are 3 1/16" x 2 1/4", case also suits for cash (not for a credit cards). The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
