18th century English sterling silver crescent form bottle tag or label, having an engraved inscription "Lisbon" - Portuguese cherry liquor aka Ginjinha. Made by Peter & Ann Bateman, London, 1791 (1st year registered). This darling label is 1 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide and weighs 8 grams or 0.25 ozs Troy. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
