Dimensions: 6”L x 3.5”W x 5.5”H Material(s): Brass body with Cast Iron heating slug. Dating to the late nineteenth century, this brass slug iron retains its original cast iron heating slug. Before the advent of electric irons, the removable slug would be heated in a stove or hearth before being inserted into the hollow body, providing a cleaner means of pressing garments and household linens than charcoal-filled irons.
