English Victorian sterling silver child's cup or mug, having faceted body with octagonal foot and applied top rim. It is decorated with engraved floral, scroll and foliate patterns as well as monogrammed "EHT" on the front. Scroll hollow handle is accented with applied foliate elements. Marked 815. Made by George John Richards & Edward Charles Brown, London, 1861. This elegant cup is 2 1/2" in top diameter, 2 3/8" in base diameter, 4" from edge to handle, 3 1/2" tall and weighs 126.6 grams or 4.08 ozs Troy. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
