American sterling silver serving set consisting of a fork and aspoon, c.1890. The set is allover gilt and with full length twist handles that are shaped into an oval to accommodate an applied, pierced panesl with scroll open work, Fleur-de-Lis, crescent, floral and foliate decorations and a Lion body finial, all accented by Turquoise enamel. This beautiful set is 8 1/4" long and weighs 118 grams or 3.8 ozs Troy, both pieces are monogrammed MC in an ornate period script. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
