Marble Top Over a Floral Marquetry Door This antique French marble-top side table began life as a bedside cabinet, a table de nuit, made in the transitional Louis XV and Louis XVI taste of circa 1900–1920. A single drawer sits above a cabinet door, and across that door runs the flowering spray of marquetry that names the piece. The case is veneered and inlaid, raised on cabriole legs and dressed with gilt-metal mounts, its original surface retained and revived.
