Royal Horse Procession Antique Thai Painting

Details

This antique manuscript page depicts a scene of movement and pageantry. The central figure rides a stylized blue horse, a color often reserved in Southeast Asian art for mystical or royal steeds. Below the horseman, attendants and smaller elephants navigate a rolling landscape, suggesting a narrative from the Jataka tales (stories of the Buddha's past lives). The exquisite detail of the costumes and the delicate floral border is preserved beautifully in a matching gold frame with a rust-colored fabric mat. • *Era: Antique • *Size: 15“(L) x 1"(D) x 19“(H) • *Material: Silk/Glass • *Color: Multi • *Medium: Gouache/Pigment on Paper (Manuscript Page) • *Subject: Royal Elephant Procession • *Origin: Thailand • *Condition: Antique with age-appropriate paper texture and fading; professionally framed.
