Continental, likely Northern German or Scandinavian 800 - 830 standard silver double compartment spice box. c.1790 - 1810 having a swirling, fluted body and an open work crown finial. Weighing 39 grams or 1.3 ozs. Troy, this desirable box is 3" tall. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
