Details

Enrique Garcel was a renowned designer known for his innovative approach to furniture design, particularly in the use of natural materials to create striking, functional art pieces. His work often reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and an understanding of how materials can interact with light and space. In this vintage console table and mirror set from the 1980s, Garcel skillfully employs tessellated horn, which not only adds a unique aesthetic quality with its beautiful natural tones but also showcases his ability to transform traditional materials into modern masterpieces. The intricate design of the horn placement highlights his meticulous attention to detail, while the combination of thick glass panels and chrome hardware introduces an element of modernity and lightness to the piece, making it feel both elegant and airy. The circular mirror, framed in matching horn, is a perfect complement to the console, creating a harmonious visual experience. The addition of the large keystone at the top of the mirror enhances its presence while maintaining the sophisticated balance of materials. This piece isn’t just about functionality; it’s a statement of art that draws the eye and makes for an impressive focal point in any space.
