Details

Mid-century modern walnut reclining lounge chair designed by Alf Svensson for Dux, Sweden, circa 1960s. This exceptional recliner embodies the Scandinavian philosophy that beauty should never come at the expense of comfort. With its sculptural walnut-stained frame and elegantly balanced proportions, the chair is a striking example of Svensson's ability to create furniture that is both visually refined and remarkably inviting. Expertly crafted from solid wood, the frame has been professionally refinished to accentuate its warmth and natural character. The gently tapered legs, flowing armrests, and angular supports showcase the precision and artistry for which Swedish furniture of this era is celebrated. Every detail has been carefully considered, resulting in a silhouette that appears light and graceful while remaining exceptionally sturdy. The chair has been newly upholstered in a light gray fabric over high-density foam, providing outstanding comfort and durability. Its tall backrest, adjustable head cushion, and reclining mechanism allow the seating position to be tailored with ease, while the locking feature ensures lasting support whether reading, relaxing, or reclining. Produced by Dux, one of Sweden's most respected furniture makers, this chair reflects the company's reputation for combining comfort with world-class craftsmanship.
