Details

This ink blue ceramic vase was produced by Bauer Pottery in the early 1920s, during the company’s formative period of American art pottery production. The vase features a classic baluster form with a rounded shoulder, gently tapered body, and flared foot—an elegant, well-balanced silhouette characteristic of early Bauer designs. Finished in Bauer’s rich ink blue glaze, the surface shows a deep cobalt tone with a high-gloss finish, prized for its depth and luminous quality. Dark blue glazes were especially popular in the 1910s–1920s, reflecting the era’s preference for bold, saturated ceramic colors. A strong example of early California pottery, this vase showcases Bauer’s early craftsmanship, weight, and refined form, making it equally suited as a decorative object or functional flower vase. Measures 6.5" x 6.5" x 16.5"
