Mid-Century Modern Sculptural Walnut Lounge Chairs by Kroehler

Details

Manufactured by Kroehler in the United States during the 1960s, this striking pair of mid-century modern lounge chairs showcases the bold, sculptural aesthetic that defined the era. Inspired by the celebrated designs of Adrian Pearsall, the chairs feature dramatic angular high backs, crisp architectural lines, and beautifully integrated solid walnut arms that flow seamlessly into the sculpted walnut bases. Their commanding silhouette creates a strong visual presence while maintaining the warmth and craftsmanship associated with American mid-century design. The solid walnut frames highlight the natural beauty of the wood grain and demonstrate the exceptional woodworking that distinguished Kroehler's finest furniture. Gracefully arched stretchers, tapered legs, and softly rounded arm caps balance the chairs' geometric form, while the high backs and tailored button tufting add subtle visual depth. Professionally refinished and newly reupholstered in a high-quality textured off-white fabric, each chair has been restored with great care, preserving its original character while providing lasting comfort with new high-density foam cushions. Founded in 1898, Kroehler became one of America's largest and most respected furniture manufacturers, earning a reputation for combining innovative design with exceptional craftsmanship. These lounge chairs embody that legacy, offering the sculptural presence, quality construction, and enduring appeal that continue to make mid-century furniture highly sought after.
