North Coast Native American Miniature Kayak circa 1930

Details

Is it a toy or a model or an effigy? Hardly matters when it is so beautifully made, and so evocative of its culture. Simply taken as an object it delights by its craftsmanship and design. Carved wood and skin. It communicates and celebrates a whole way of life, now largely vanished, though the people endure. 20" long x 3" x 3"
