English sterling silver pepper grinder, having lobed design top and body with an oval blank reserve on the front. Base is decorated with an engraved floral and foliate patterns. On the top, there is a figural celluloid finial. Grinder has English steel mechanism. Made in London, 1947. Maker's marks are rubbed. This fabulous grinder is 2 1/4" in diameter and 3 1/8" tall (without the finial). The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
