Mid-Century Rosewood Tall Dresser by Robert Baron for Glenn of California

Details

Mid-century modern Brazilian rosewood tall chest of drawers designed by Robert Baron for Glenn of California, USA, circa 1960s. This exceptional dresser captures the refined aesthetic that defined American modern design during the postwar era, blending luxurious materials with a clean silhouette. Robert Baron was known for creating furniture that balanced bold geometry with everyday functionality, while Glenn of California earned a reputation for producing some of the most progressive and finely crafted furniture of the period. The case is beautifully wrapped in richly figured Brazilian rosewood, showcasing dramatic grain movement and warm natural tones that make each drawer front unique. Deeply ebonized sides provide a striking contrast, emphasizing the cabinet's lines, while chrome recessed pulls and aluminum trim lend a subtle modern elegance without distracting from the beauty of the wood. Offering eight spacious drawers that operate smoothly, this chest provides generous storage within a remarkably slender footprint. The recessed base further enhances its light appearance, giving the cabinet an almost floating effect. With its sculptural proportions, premium materials, and impeccable craftsmanship, this dresser represents the enduring appeal of Glenn of California's finest work. Equally functional and collectible, it remains a standout example of Mid-Century Modern design. One that continues to be admired for its timeless culture, exceptional construction, and lasting investment quality.
