German 800 standard parcel gilt silver oval serving bowl stands with the best wheel and brilliant cut glass inserts by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund, Germany, c.1890. We are offering a pair of these fabulous bowls, perhaps the nicest ones of this size that we have ever seen. Each insert has wheel cut Belleflower and Acanthus leaf decorations under the brilliant cut scalloped rim and a waisted cut center band that forms the mount for the silver stand. The bottoms are star and panel cut, with both inserts being in excellent condition. The gilt silver stands have conforming Belleflower and Acanthus leaf decorations on a central band, fancy scroll and pearl handles with gilt accents, a beaded top rim on an inverted matte finished silver upper body. The tops of the rims and the bands separating the decorations are gilt. The lower portion of the body has a silver matte finish and sits on four Acanthus and scroll feet, with the entire interior of each having a matte gilt finish. Each has the German marks for 800 standard silver, the maker′s mark of Wilhelm Binder and a French Import mark. Each of these fabulous bowls is 8" across the handles and 5" wide. The silver weight for each bowl is 155 grams or 5 ozs. Troy. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
